Old Meeting House Congregational Church (1643)

Here at the Old Meeting House Congregational Church, we are believing that God is moving us forward as a fellowship into a greater ministry and for this to happen we must increase our prayers. Prayer is the most powerful force we have as believers, and we are expecting great things from God.

Here are just some of the things we are urgently seeking and would love it if you would pray as the more people who do the greater the power of prayer. The Bible reminds us in Matthew chapter 7 and verse 7….

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."

So, let’s do some asking!

1. We urgently need an organist or musician to lead worship. At the moment we just have a machine which really restricts our worship, and we are longing to worship the Lord more and more.
2. Whilst we have a meeting during the week for people with learning difficulties, we are seeking the Lord to bring a lady who could develop a ministry to ladies.
3. We are praying that God would revive His church, this has often been done through music. Once a month we have on the third Saturday at 3pm, Sing on Saturday when we have a time of singing the hymns that were sung when the churches were well attended. It is a time for fellowship and a time to be uplifted and brought into the presence of God. We know that there are many lonely people and Saturday’s can be very difficult when you are on your own. We also know that there many people who are finding it hard to find a church and love the sing the old hymns. We are praying that God will bring a number of people who would be willing to go round the villages and personally invite people to these meetings.
4. Our chapel is in urgent need of repair and as an independent chapel we have to depend on the Lord for all our provisions. We are urgently needing to find £20,000 for a survey which will give a detailed cost of all the repairs that are required. This is highly skilled task and needs to be completed by an architect, hence the price.
5. We now have a weekly Bible Study on a Wednesday evening at 7pm and we are longing for more people to come. We really have a great time of fellowship.

This list will be updated from time to time and more items added but we also want to be able to give God the glory by sharing answers to these prayers.
