The Best Hidden Church in Norwich

Rev. William Warren

William Warren is Curate of Holy Trinity Church, Norwich. He read Classics at Warwick, and Theology at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford. His interest in the Puritans was sparked through early years spent near the home of the Pilgrim Fathers in Retford, Notts. Married to Claire, they have a young son. Alongside history, he enjoys cricket, reading and railways.

Come listen to William give a talk, "Hissing Hot": The Life and Ministry of John Flavel (1630 - 1691) on Monday the 13th of June at 7:00 P.M.

John Flavel was often acclaimed as one of the most powerful preachers of the Puritan era, he was for many years minister of Dartmouth in Devon. Best known today for his classic work on providence, he was a major influence on Jonathan Edwards, George Whitefield, and Robert Murray M'Cheyne. This lecture will explore Flavel's eventful life, his copious writings, and his legacy today.
