Most of my life I have been very interested in mottoes, perhaps one of the best known is DUM VIVIMUS VIVAMUS - “live, while you live”. It became well known because of the paraphrase of Dr. Doddridge, who inherited it with his family crest:
Live, while you live - the epicure would say,
And sees the pleasure of the present day.
Live, while you live – the sacred preacher cries,
And give to God each moment as it flies.
Lord, in my view is that both united be;
I live in pleasure when I live to Thee.
Perhaps this might be a helpful motto whilst we face the corona virus. Even during this challenging time let’s live our lives to the full.
